Capture and decide

SaaSy gives you one place to drop a thought and a short path to deciding what it becomes. Capture anything into the Inbox and triage it into a task, project, note, or idea; park the half-formed ones on the Ideas board until you are convinced; turn the ones that need repeating into Habits. If you are still naming what you are building, the Name & Brand Studio is where that starts.

Capture a thought

The capture box is available from anywhere in the app, so you never have to navigate first.

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+K (⌘⇧K on Mac).
  2. Type the thought and submit it.
  3. The box clears and stays open, so a brain dump can keep flowing.

Everything you capture lands in the Inbox untriaged. Nothing is filed or acted on until you decide.

Triage the Inbox

Open Inbox from the sidebar. Its subtitle is the whole idea: "Everything you captured, waiting for a decision."

  1. Read the first capture in the list.
  2. Choose what it becomes: Task, Project, Note, or Idea. Note asks you to link it to a record — pick an Entity type of Company, Contact, or Deal, search for the Entity, then click Create note.
  3. If you are unsure, click Suggest. SaaSy proposes one of the same four destinations as "AI suggests: …" with an Apply button. It is a shortcut, not a decision — ignore it and pick something else if you disagree.
  4. Click Discard for anything you no longer want.
  5. Use Refresh to pull in captures made elsewhere.

Clearing the list gives you the Inbox zero empty state.

Park and explore ideas

Not every capture is ready to become work. The Ideas board holds those: "A parking space for ideas — explore when ready, convert when convinced."

The board has three columns — Parked, Exploring, and Converted.

  1. Send a capture here by choosing Idea in the Inbox, or capture one directly.
  2. When you want to start looking into an idea, click Explore to move it out of Parked. Park moves it back.
  3. When you are convinced, click To project. The idea moves to Converted and shows a View project link to the work it became.
  4. Use Archive to shelve an idea without deleting it, and Restore to bring it back. Discard removes it.

If the project an idea became is later deleted, the card says so rather than linking to nothing.

Turn repetition into habits

Some decisions are not one-off — they are a routine. Habits tracks those: "Small routines, compounding results — check them off daily."

  1. Click New habit (or Create your first habit).
  2. Enter a Name and an optional Description and Goal.
  3. Set the Cadence to Daily or Weekly. For weekly habits, set Times per week.
  4. Choose a Verification method:
    • Manual check-off — you check it off yourself.
    • Auto — CRM activity — checks off automatically when enough CRM activities are logged each day. Set Activity types (blank means any) and Events per day.
    • Auto — invoices — checks off automatically when invoices are created each day.
  5. Click Create.

Each habit card shows your streak and a completion percentage over the last 30 days (daily) or 12 weeks (weekly). Use Mark done for today on manual habits, or Undo today's check if you tapped it by mistake. Archive hides a habit you have outgrown; Show archived brings the list back into view. A summary card, Today's habits, appears on the Command Center once you have at least one.

Name a new venture

If the idea does not have a name yet, open Name & Brand Studio. It runs in three steps.

  1. Under 1. Describe your idea, write a one-line description, add comma-separated keywords, pick a Tone, and click Suggest names. Regenerate produces a fresh set. If AI generation is unavailable, the page labels the results as offline suggestions.
  2. Under 2. Pick a name, click Check availability on a candidate to see domain and social-handle status and any similar existing brand names. Then click Choose this name.
  3. Under 3. Choose a brand direction, compare the generated directions — each shows a colour palette, heading and body fonts, and a logo description — and click Save this brand on the one you want. The saved brand is shown at the top of the page from then on.

Availability and similarity results are signals to check, not a legal clearance. Confirm trademark and registration status yourself before you commit.

Once a capture becomes work, it lives in the module that owns it — see Work Management for tasks and projects, and CRM for notes linked to companies, contacts, and deals.
