E-Signature
E-Signature lets you send a document out for signature and follow it until it comes back signed. You pick a document you already hold in SaaSy, list who needs to sign it and in what order, place the signature fields, and then watch each request move through the pipeline. Every step is written to an audit trail you can open at any time.
What's included
| Page | What it's for |
|---|---|
| E-Signature | Your request list, status counters, and the New signature request form |
| Provider & advanced settings | Choosing a signing provider, placing fields, voiding a request, and reading the audit trail |
| The signing page | What the recipient opens from the link you send. It lives outside your dashboard and needs no SaaSy account |
Getting started
- Open E-Signature from the sidebar.
- Select New signature request.
- Enter the CRM document ID of the document you want signed and a Title.
- Add each signer's name, email, and order. Select Add signer for anyone else who needs to sign.
- Select Send for signature.
Tracking requests
The four counters across the top of the page are Total requests, Awaiting signature, Completed, and Needs attention. Below them, the request table lists Title, Status, and Created.
A request moves through draft, sent, viewed, signed, and completed. declined and voided
are the two end states that land in Needs attention.
Placing fields and voiding
Both actions live on Provider & advanced settings, reachable from the button of that name on the E-Signature page.
- Find the request in the Signature requests list.
- Select Place fields. This is available while the request is still
draftorsent— once signing has begun the document can no longer be edited. - Choose a field type — Signature, Initials, Date, or Text — then click or drag on the page to place it.
- With a field selected, use Assign to signer to tie it to one recipient (the default is Any signer) and toggle Required.
- Select Save fields.
To stop a request that shouldn't go ahead, select Void on its row. Completed requests can't be voided.
Under Signing provider you choose between Native (SaaSy) and DocuSign. As the page notes, "DocuSign requires the DocuSign integration to be connected under Integrations. Native signing works out of the box."
What the recipient sees
The recipient opens your link and lands on a page titled with the document name, prompting them to "Review the document, agree to sign electronically, then adopt your signature." They:
- Open the document with View document.
- Tick the consent box confirming they agree to sign electronically and consent to the use of electronic signatures and records for the transaction (ESIGN / UETA).
- Adopt a signature under Adopt your signature, either by choosing Type and entering their full name, or Draw and drawing it. Clear resets a drawn signature.
- Select Sign document, or Decline if they won't sign.
Placed fields appear in the document as Sign here, Initials, Date, and Text markers. On success they see Signature complete; if they decline, You declined to sign. Expired or invalid links show a message asking them to contact you for a new one.
The audit trail
Expand a request on Provider & advanced settings to see Signers and Audit trail. Each entry records the event, a timestamp, and the IP address it came from where one was captured. Events include created, sent, viewed, consented, signed, completed, declined, and voided.
When a document is completed, SaaSy generates a Certificate of Completion recording each signer's name and email, the UTC signing time, IP address, user agent, whether ESIGN consent was given, and a SHA-256 hash of the original document. The certificate is appended to the signed document.
Availability
E-Signature is not on by default in most packs. Only the General pack shows it. Every other pack — Agency, Professional services, E-commerce, SaaS, Construction, Manufacturing, and Nonprofit — hides the E-Signature sidebar item by default, even when your plan includes it. Switch it on under Settings → Navigation; hiding is cosmetic, and the pages work if you have the URL.
E-Signature is included free with every SaaSy plan — Starter, Growth, and Scale. There is no free tier, so an active subscription is required. If you don't have a plan, it can be bought on its own at $29/mo. Without an entitlement, opening the page shows an upsell card instead of the feature.
See Modules, packs, and plans for how visibility and entitlement interact.
