Grants

Grants helps you find federal funding your business might qualify for without reading Grants.gov every week. SaaSy keeps a copy of the federal catalogue, scores individual opportunities against your business profile, and can draft the first version of a proposal for you. You still review the draft and submit the application yourself — SaaSy never files anything on your behalf.

What's included​

Grants is a single page. It has three sections, which appear as you use it:

Getting started​

  1. Open Grants from the sidebar.
  2. If you see the banner asking you to complete your business profile, follow Go to profile settings first and add your legal name, entity type, NAICS code, and state. Without these, SaaSy won't produce a fit score rather than guessing at one.
  3. Review anything under Suggested for you.
  4. To look further, enter a Keyword (for example broadband or apprenticeship) or an Agency code (for example HUD), then select Search catalog.
  5. On a promising result, select Score this grant.

Reading a match​

Each scored grant shows a fit score out of 100, a status badge, the awarding agency, the award range, and how long is left before the deadline — N days left, Due today, or Closed. Deadlines inside three weeks are highlighted. Where SaaSy has one, a short rationale explains the score.

The fit score is a 0–100 measure of how well the opportunity matches your profile. It is not a percentage and not a probability of winning an award. Use it to rank your shortlist, not to predict the outcome.

Statuses are Suggested, Needs profile, Pursuing, Awarded, and Declined.

Select View on Grants.gov to open the official listing, which is where the real eligibility rules, requirements, and application forms live. Always confirm the details there before committing time.

Pursuing a grant​

  1. On a match you want to chase, select Convert to project. This creates a project so the work shows up alongside the rest of your pipeline.
  2. Select Draft proposal to have SaaSy generate a first draft.
  3. When you hear back, select Mark awarded to record the outcome.

Select Refresh at any time to re-pull your matches.

Working with an AI draft​

Draft proposal opens a modal with six sections: Executive summary, Statement of need, Project description, Goals & outcomes, Budget narrative, and Organizational capacity. A badge tells you how it was produced — AI-drafted when a language model wrote it from your business profile, or Template draft when it fell back to a template.

Select Copy all to copy the whole draft to your clipboard, then Done to close the modal.

Treat the output as a starting point, not a submission. A drafted proposal is generated from the profile data SaaSy holds, so it will not know about anything you haven't recorded, and it may state things about your organisation that are wrong or out of date. Before anything goes to a funder:

  • Read every section and correct the facts, figures, and dates.
  • Check the draft against the funding opportunity's own instructions, page limits, and required attachments.
  • Have a person who is accountable for the application approve the final text.

SaaSy does not submit grant applications. There is no integration that files on your behalf, and no part of the product should be read as a prediction that you will win an award. When your proposal is ready, you submit it through Grants.gov or the agency's own system.

Availability​

Grants is on by default in every vertical pack, so it appears in your sidebar whichever industry you picked during setup. If it's missing, check Settings → Navigation — hiding a module is cosmetic, and the page still works if you have the URL.

Grants is included free with every SaaSy plan — Starter, Growth, and Scale. There is no free tier, so an active subscription is required. Without an entitlement, opening the page shows an upsell card instead of the feature, noting that "Grant discovery is included with every SaaSy plan."
