SaaSy Class

SaaSy Class is your own course library, running inside your workspace. It appears in the sidebar as Learning. You build a course out of modules and lessons, publish it, and the people in your workspace enroll themselves and work through it. SaaSy tracks who has finished what, grades the quizzes, and issues a certificate when someone completes every lesson in a course.

This is training you run, not training SaaSy supplies. The courses are the ones your workspace writes, and the learners are the people who sign in to your workspace. A course can also carry a price, in which case a learner pays for it before they can enroll, and you can issue discount codes against that price.

Getting started

If you are setting up training, start here.

  1. Open Learning from the sidebar.
  2. Select Manage.
  3. Select New course.
  4. Fill in Title and Description, choose a Difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced), and tick Offers a certificate if you want the course badged that way in the catalog.
  5. Select Create. The course is created as a Draft, so nobody can see it yet.
  6. Select Edit content on the new course and add your modules and lessons.
  7. Back on Manage courses, select Publish.

If you are taking training rather than running it, skip to Working through a course.

Building a course

A course is a learning path: it holds modules, and each module holds lessons. Edit content is where you build that structure.

  1. Under Add module, enter a Module title and select Add module.
  2. Inside a module, enter a Lesson title and select Add lesson. Repeat for every lesson.
  3. Modules with nothing in them yet read No lessons yet; a course with no modules reads No modules yet.
  4. Select Back to manage when you are done.

Two limits worth knowing before you plan a course around them. This screen creates lessons by title only; there is no field here for lesson text, a video, or a linked document, and no control to rename, reorder, or delete what you have added. And quizzes cannot be built here either: learners can take a quiz (see below), but attaching one to a lesson is not something the portal does today.

Publishing

Courses start as Draft and show a Draft badge on Manage courses. Publish moves the course into the catalog, where everyone in your workspace can see and enroll in it; the badge changes to Published. Unpublish takes it back out of the catalog.

Publishing is not blocked by an empty course, so check the content is in place before you publish.

Enrolling learners

Learners enroll themselves. On the catalog, a course card carries an Enroll button, and selecting it confirms with You're enrolled. There is no screen for enrolling someone else, and no bulk import. To get people started, publish the course and send them to Learning, or send them the course's URL directly.

Once someone is enrolled, their card shows a progress bar instead of the button: {percent}% complete, or Completed when they are done.

Working through a course

This is the learner's side.

  1. Open Learning and select a course title.
  2. If you are not enrolled yet, the page shows Enroll next to Enroll to track your progress. Select it.
  3. The course lists each module with its lessons underneath, and the minutes each lesson is expected to take where the author set one.
  4. Work through a lesson, then select Mark complete on its row. The tick turns green and the progress bar at the top moves.
  5. Lessons that are set up as a quiz show Take quiz instead.

Progress is per person. Your percentage is worked out from how many of the course's lessons you have completed, so it reaches 100% only when every lesson is ticked off.

Taking a quiz

A quiz opens with its pass mark stated (Pass mark: {percent}%) and, once you have tried before, which attempt you are on.

Questions come in four shapes: pick one answer, pick several, true or false, and a typed answer under Your answer. Answer them all, then select Submit. Grading happens on SaaSy's side, not in your browser, so you cannot see the answers before you submit.

The result screen shows Passed or Not passed, your score as a percentage, and {earned} / {total} points. Passing marks the lesson complete, confirmed with Lesson completed!. If you did not pass you can select Retake, unless the author capped the number of attempts and you have used them all, in which case the page reads You've used all your attempts.

A lesson with no quiz attached reads This lesson has no quiz.

Certificates

When you complete every lesson in a course, SaaSy issues a certificate automatically. There is nothing to request and nothing for an instructor to approve. Courses the author marked with Offers a certificate carry a Certificate badge in the catalog so learners know what they are working toward.

Open My Certificates from the catalog to see what you have earned. Each one shows the course name, Certificate no., the issue date, and a Verification code. Use the copy button next to the code to put it on the clipboard, and PDF to download the certificate itself.

The verification code is the point of the certificate. It is a random, one-off handle that confirms the certificate is genuine, so you can hand it to a client or an employer without giving them any access to your workspace.

Selling a course

Paid-course payouts are not ready

Course checkout currently collects payments into SaaSy's platform Stripe account, without routing them to your business's connected account. Use free courses for now; contact support before setting a course price through the API. The checkout controls below do not provide payouts to your business.

If a course has a price set on it, its catalog card reads Buy for {price} rather than Enroll, and a learner has to buy it before they can enroll. Under the button, Have a discount code? opens a Discount code field.

Selecting Buy for {price} opens a checkout page. Once the payment goes through, the learner comes back to the course and can enroll. A code that covers the whole price skips payment entirely and grants access straight away.

One gap to plan around: the price itself is not something you can set in the portal. There is no price field on Manage courses or Edit content; a course only becomes a paid course through the API. Courses with no price are free to enroll in, which is every course you create in the portal today.

Buyers sign in to your workspace like any other member. There is no public, signed-out storefront.

Discount codes

Open Discount codes from Manage courses.

  1. Under New code, enter a Code. It is stored in capitals, and learners can type it in any case.
  2. Choose a Discount type (Percentage off or Fixed amount off) and enter the Percent off or Amount off. A code carries one or the other, never both.
  3. Set Max redemptions to cap how many times the code can be used in total, or leave it empty for Unlimited.
  4. Leave Limit to one use per learner ticked to stop the same person using it twice.
  5. Select Create code.

The table below lists every code with its Discount, how many times it has been Redeemed against its cap, and a Status of Active or Inactive. Deactivate turns a code off and asks you to confirm first: {code} will stop working immediately. Codes already redeemed keep their history.

What a code is worth is decided by SaaSy at checkout, not by the browser, so an invalid or expired code simply comes back with no discount applied rather than going through.

Ratings and reviews

Reviews on a course card is learner feedback, not an approval step. There is no review and sign-off stage between a draft course and a published one.

On the reviews page, set a rating from one to five stars, add a Comment (optional), and select Submit. Your own review is pre-filled when you come back, and the buttons become Update review and Remove. The average rating and the number of reviews appear on the course card in the catalog once there is at least one.

Who can do what

Manage courses and Discount codes are limited to instructors and admins. The Manage button is on the catalog for everyone, but anyone without that role who opens it sees Instructor access required, with the note "Course authoring is limited to instructors and admins. Ask an admin for instructor access, or head back to your courses." That is the expected behavior, not a fault; ask an admin to give you the instructor role.

Everyone else in the workspace can browse the catalog, enroll, take lessons and quizzes, leave a review, and collect their own certificates. Progress, quiz results, and certificates are personal: each person sees their own.

Availability

Learning belongs to the Knowledge & Documents module, which is switched on by default in every industry pack: Agency, Professional services, E-commerce, SaaS, Construction, Manufacturing, Nonprofit, and General. If the item is missing from your sidebar, someone has hidden the module under Settings → Navigation; hiding is cosmetic, and the pages still work if you have the URL.

SaaSy Class is included free with every SaaSy plan: Starter, Growth, and Scale. There is no free tier, so an active subscription is required. It can also be bought on its own without a plan; that price is not published in the plan table, so buy it from the upsell card or see hellosaasy.ai/pricing. Without an entitlement, every Learning page shows an upsell card headed SaaSy Class, with the message "Build courses, enroll your team, and issue certificates. Available on your plan or as an add-on." and a View plans button, instead of the feature.

See Modules, packs, and plans for how visibility and entitlement interact. The rest of the module is covered in Knowledge & Documents.

A SaaSy Class certificate records that someone completed your course in your workspace. It is a credential you issue, not an accredited qualification. Where training has to be certified by an outside body, confirm the requirement with that body.
